Saving Promise is inspired
by a little girl and a big idea

Between us, we can prevent intimate partner violence.

Founded by L.Y. Marlow after five generations of intimate partner violence in her family threatened the life of her granddaughter, Promise, we are fueled by a belief that when brave people from all walks of life come together, we can prevent the cycle of abuse and create true and lasting change for generations to come. Saving Promise has earned the trust of many community and national partners like Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, who believe in our vision—with your support, we can make that vision a reality.

Intimate partner violence, also known as domestic violence, is the third biggest threat to women’s health, right up there with heart disease and breast cancer, affecting 1 in 3 women, 1 in 7 men, and 1 in 4 children who witness it every year. It is going to take all of us working together to prevent this global public health crisis.

There are so many ways to get involved.
To start, we invite you to become a Friend of Promise.
